You can take a train from Rome Termini train station to Formia-Gaeta approximately every hour. From here a free shuttle takes you to the Vespucci pier where a Cotral line bus takes you directly to Gaeta. The travel time from Rome to Gaeta is approximately two hours.
Travelling by car, the easiest route is the A1 motorway with the Frosinone or Cassino exit and continue following the Formia-Gaeta signs. Alternatively you can take the SS 148 Pontina to Terracina and continue on the SR 213 Flacca towards Gaeta.
